The "First International Conference on Humanizing Cities" has obtained a Royal order and approval of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz, to be held in AlMadinah AlMunawwarah, under the patronage of H.R.H. Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of AlMadinah Region, Chairman of AlMadinah AlMunawwarah Development Authority


About the Conference

The Almadinah Development Authority in collaboration with the Center for Local Governance are holding the "First International Conference on Humanizing Cities". A Royal order was issued for the approval of conducting the conference under the patronage of H.R.H. Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of AlMadinah Region. Taking place from May 7-10, 2018 in AlMadinah AlMunawwarah, the conference will serve as a platform for local government leaders, policy-makers, researchers, private sector representatives and citizens to discuss how to humanize their cities and make them more suitable to residents’ needs and aspirations. Ultimately, the conference will serve as a first step in creating a road map for humanizing Saudi cities and is aligned with the country’s transformational Vision 2030.


To define concrete steps and measures to improve the quality of life across Saudi cities in a way that fulfills Vision 2030.

To inspire renewed humanization projects for Madinah City and showcase the historical importance of Madinah’s humanization.
